YunNan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has 19 branches under its jurisdiction. By the end of 2005, the bureau had a total of 2235 cadre-level employees, among whom 1989 have a diploma of at least junior college level, accounting for 89% of the total. The instruments and equipments in the lab have a total assets value of 300 million RMB yuan, among which 284 units (sets) are large-type equipments with a value of at least 100 thousand RMB yuan. In the same system all over the province, there are 52 labs that have passed the measurement & computation certification, 36 labs that have passed the CNAL approval, and 19 labs that have been designated as the state-level key labs according to the plan of the State Quality Inspection Administration; the number of labs that have passed certification or approval has been continuously ranking the first place in the same system throughout the country. In addition, there are 8 labs that have been approved and recognized by international labs.

Since the campaign of "socialist spiritual civilization creation and construction" was launched in 1986, Jiangu Inspection & Quarantine System has been consistently adhering to the principle of "Addressing both Material and Spiritual Civilizations Simultaneously Without any Letup", strengthening the idealistic and political work and extensively organizing and launching various types of creation and construction nature activities to make the "the three civilizations" (including spiritual, material and political civilizations) function as a whole and develop harmoniously. From 1989 to 1998,the whole provincial system has been awarded the honorary title of "YunNan Province Civilized Unit" five times in 10 successive years. Since 1999, the whole provincial system has been awarded the title of "YunNan Province Civilized Industry" three times in six successive years. The provincial bureau has obtained the title of "YunNan Province Political Style Advanced Unit" in numerous successive years. In 2004, the provincial bureau ranked the first place among all the law-enforcing organs taking part in the campaign of "ten-thousand people appraising and commenting on the work style of administrative organs" organized by YunNan Province, achieving a satisfaction rate of up to 99%. In 2005, the provincial bureau was designated by the Central Civilization Committee as "National Civilized Unit".
